He has taken it upon himself to recreate [famous landmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trevi-fountain-model) through a vein of [origami art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-time). At first Sergei Tarasov focused on creating a model of Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Russia. Later, he tackled the Svyato-Spassky Cathedral in Munusinsk. Hailing from the village of Tigritskoye in southern Russia, Sergei Tarasov takes between 6 months and a year to create each of his masterpieces. Considering that the Saint Basil’s Cathedral stands at one and a half meters high while incorporating 60,000 separate units of carefully assembled origami pieces, that should come as no surprise. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Origami Landmarks:** Using origami to create landmarks is a unique way to showcase artistic skills and creativity. - **Paper Art:** Intricate paper art is gaining popularity worldwide as a form of visual art. - **DIY Art:** Creating intricate art pieces using minimal resources like paper can help in the growth of DIY art culture. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Innovative paper art techniques like origami landmarks has the potential to revolutionize the art and design industry. - **Crafts:** DIY culture in crafts industry is gaining momentum, which can benefit from the rising trend of paper art. - **Education:** Including origami art in class curriculum can promote creativity and practical learning among children. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-series.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Paper-Made Origami Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanging-origami-lamp.md) - [Origami-Inspired Steel Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflector-sculpture.md) - [Pointy Paper Lantern Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-lantern-pavilion.md) - [Folded Paper Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clara-von-zweibergk.md) - [Meticulous Paper-Stacked Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paragraphic-in-four-stacks.md)
