Creating a structure that is fully integrated into its surrounding environment, this striking memorial park features a fluid shape that mimics its region's curved contours. The [inset structure reaches below ground](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cmp-inspiration), looking like a hidden treasure amongst a sea of green grass and mountainous hillsides. Architecture firm HAEAHN enveloped the park's exterior structure around its central courtyard and pool. The firm describes the two-storey space as an example of "land art" that aims to heighten a built environment's interaction with its surrounding natural topography. From its green gardens to its naturally lit interiors, the Seoul Memorial Park by HAEAHN commemorates the Korean city's natural life while serving as a memorable landmark its visitors won't want to miss. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Integration of Architecture and Landscape:** The Seoul Memorial Park by HAEAHN showcases the trend of seamlessly blending architectural design with the natural environment, creating opportunities for new and innovative approaches to sustainable and visually striking structures. - **Land Art:** The memorial park's incorporation of land art highlights the trend of using landforms and natural elements as artistic mediums in architectural design, leading to novel ways of connecting nature and human-made structures. - **Interacting with Natural Topography:** The design of the Seoul Memorial Park by HAEAHN demonstrates the trend of actively engaging with the unique topography of a site, encouraging the exploration of innovative strategies for harmonious integration of architecture with the surrounding landscape. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture and Landscape Design:** The fusion of architecture and landscape in the Seoul Memorial Park opens up opportunities for architects and landscape designers to collaborate and create innovative structures that seamlessly blend with the natural surroundings. - **Tourism and Landmark Development:** With its visually stunning design, the Seoul Memorial Park by HAEAHN presents opportunities for tourism and landmark development, inspiring entrepreneurs and investors to create unique destinations that celebrate the fusion of nature and architecture. - **Sustainable Construction:** The innovative techniques employed in the Seoul Memorial Park's design offer opportunities for the construction industry to explore sustainable materials and methodologies that minimize the ecological impact while maximizing aesthetic appeal. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reflective Memorial Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-of-trees.md) - [Musical Island Regeneration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundscape-1.md) - [Integrative Garden Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheongsudang-bakery.md) - [Terraced Urban Landmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/go-park-sai-sha.md) - [Verdant Pavilion Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pojeon-house.md) - [Hillside Embedded Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-the-slope.md) - [Greenery-Filled Skyscraper Terrarium](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terrarium-cheongdam.md) - [Clustered Natural Campus Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hongik-university.md) - [Zen-Like Shopping Malls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenlike-shopping-mall.md)
