# Sensual Side Tables Richard Yasmine's 'Glory Holes' Table is Subtly Bold By Gurveer Brah | Published 2015-08-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sensual-side-table References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/side-table-thats-meant-like-piece-jewelry/) & [richardyasmine](http://www.richardyasmine.com/) When furniture has this much personality and can call for attention like this [subtly sensual side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tottolo), it can become a conversation piece and a staple in any modern home. Designer Richard Yasmine created this controversial piece of furniture and aptly named it 'Glory Holes' to commemorate its sensual nature. The piece is absolutely daring in its strong gold design that has an innate nature for curiosity. While it stands out like an audacious piece of jewelry, it is equally functional. It is comprised of two sides, one made of marble and one is a metal with a gunmetal finish, while it is kept up with questionably (but purposefully) shaped [solid brass rods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intra-side-table) that are removable. Also notable, it can be placed on either side, resulting in a variation based on the size of the table you desire. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Controversial Furniture:** Opportunities for creating bold, attention-grabbing furniture pieces that become conversation starters. - **Sensual Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in incorporating sensual elements into modern home furniture aesthetics. - **Versatile Side Tables:** Potential for designing side tables with adjustable features that allow for customization based on desired size. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Furnishings:** Innovative designs that push boundaries in the home furnishings industry, creating conversation pieces and unique aesthetics. - **Luxury Decor:** Opportunities for incorporating bold and sensually inspired designs into luxury decor to appeal to a niche market. - **Interior Design:** Potential for interior designers to explore and incorporate controversial and versatile furniture pieces into their projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shimmering Oceanic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-table.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Puzzling Geometric Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linked-side-table.md) - [Illusory Cracked Base Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-side-table.md) - [Asymmetrical Industrial Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mura-side-table.md) - [Versatile Curvaceous Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/proust.md) - [Cloudy Sunbeam Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunbeam-side-table.md) - [Fabric-Like Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablecloth-side-table.md) - [Extravagant Handcrafted Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handcrafted-furniture.md)
