# Saddle-Like Seating The Sella Chair by Leolux Features a Minimalist Yet Adventurous Design By Meghan Young | Published 2011-03-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sella-chair References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/005066.html) & [leolux](http://www.leolux.com/sella.htm) The shape of the [Sella](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sella-concept-1) chair reminds me of a horse saddle so much that I can't help but think that it belongs in a stable. Yet, it is this same quirky detail that has me loving its design. Sleek and modern, the Sella chair evokes a sense of adventure and the outdoors. Designed by Patrick Belli for [Leolux](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leolux-lx-launched), the Sella chair is made using [thick foam cushions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo-lounge-chair) covered in quality leather, mounted on a spring metal frame with aluminum feet. Available in a slew of colors, the Sella chair's minimalist design would allow it to fit comfortably into any living space with ease. Purchasing different colors of these chairs would definitely add bright accents to your home, making them especially perfect for the summer months. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Furniture:** The Sella chair's minimalist design offers opportunities for creating sleek and modern furniture pieces. - **Adventurous Design:** The Sella chair's adventurous design inspires opportunities for creating unique and eye-catching furniture pieces. - **Colorful Accents:** The Sella chair's availability in a slew of colors presents opportunities for incorporating vibrant and colorful accents into furniture designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The Sella chair's innovative design presents disruptive opportunities for the furniture manufacturing industry to create minimalist and adventurous seating options. - **Interior Design:** The Sella chair's sleek and modern design offers opportunities for interior designers to incorporate minimalist and adventurous furniture pieces into their projects. - **Home Decor:** The Sella chair's range of vibrant colors provides opportunities for the home decor industry to create colorful accents and accessories to complement furniture designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Leather Classic Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sling-chair-1.md) - [Leather-Accented Industrial Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/l1-chair-from-object-leuci.md) - [Luxurious Minimal Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxurious-minimal-chair.md) - [Anatomical Lounge Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/himalaya-pelvis-chair.md) - [Simplistically Shaped Geometric Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitter-chair.md) - [Saddle-Inspired Ergonomic Modern Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pepe-stool.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Balance-Inspired Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seating-collection.md) - [Adaptable Ergonomic Office Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-moon-chair.md)
