While many cities have designed shuttle services specifically for visitors, Singapore is the first city to use autonomous vehicles as a form of public transportation. The self-driving golf carts go by the name 'SMART' and operate at public gardens throughout the city. Tourists can book the service simply by selecting a designated pick-up and drop-off time. The golf carts can then transport passengers to designated locations by using a series of cameras and vehicle-mounted sensors. While the autonomous vehicles can only move at a speed of 15 mph, the carts are able to provide tourists with an easy way of getting around.
