# Health-Tracking Litter Boxes Footloose by Petato is an Ergonomic, Self-Cleaning Litter Box with AI By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2018-10-17 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-cleaning-litter-box References: [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/petato/footloose-next-gen-automatic-and-health-tracking-c) & [petato](http://www.petato.com/) Footloose by Petato is now being introduced on [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petlux) as a next-gen self-cleaning litter box that is much more than just an automatic receptacle for pet waste. While there are now countless self-cleaning cat litter boxes on the market, many of them are prone to breaking, costly to upkeep and some even scare away cats with their designs. As well as addressing the concerns that many pet parents have with automated litter boxes, Footloose goes above and beyond by offering health-tracking features for felines with artificial intelligence. One of the many smart design features of Footloose is an ergonomic raised chamber shape that helps to address the fact that cats often get harassed by more dominant cats while toileting. A small doorstep may also be introduced to help smaller or elderly cats enter and exit the litter box comfortably. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Health-tracking Litter Boxes:** Litter boxes that offer health-tracking features for pets with AI are disrupting the pet care industry. - **Ergonomic Pet Products:** Pet products designed with ergonomics in mind to promote pet comfort and well-being present an opportunity for innovation and disruption in the pet care industry. - **Self-cleaning Pet Products:** Automated and self-cleaning pet products, such as litter boxes, offer convenience and potential cost savings for pet owners and could disrupt the pet care industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Pet Care:** The pet care industry could benefit from the development of new and innovative pet products, such as health-tracking litter boxes. - **Artificial Intelligence:** The use of AI technology in pet products, such as Footloose by Petato, represents a growing trend of smart home pet care and disruption of the pet tech industry. - **Home Automation:** The integration of home automation and pet care presents an opportunity for disruption in the pet tech industry, as seen in Footloose's use of AI to offer health-tracking features in a litter box. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Powered Open-Top Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petkit-purobot-crystal-duo.md) - [AI-Assisted Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luma-smart-litter-box.md) - [Open-Style Smart Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furoomate-litter-box.md) - [Fashionable Self-Cleaning Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petlux.md) - [AI-Assisted Self-Cleaning Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfcleaning-litter-boxes.md) - [Self-Cleaning Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfcleaning-litter-box1.md) - [Connected Smart Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/els-pet-selfcleaning-litter-box.md) - [Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfcleaning-cat-litter-box.md) - [AI-Powered Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aipowered-litter-box.md)
