# Motorized Building Block Creations Simon Burfield Has Put Together a Segway Made from LEGO By Lacey-Jane Walsh | Published 2013-06-17 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/segway References: [blog.makezine](http://blog.makezine.com/2013/06/06/lego-segway/) & [burf.org.uk](http://www.burf.org.uk/) Lego lover Simon Burfield has recently created a segway made entirely from LEGO. This building block master mind has created numerous clever motorized toys. Burfield has even created a fully functional motorized wheelchair, which is both an impressive and helpful invention. Segways are a lot of fun in general, but when you combine them with LEGO you get a next-level way to get around. This building block adult toy still needs some tweaking. Currently to use it, Burfield has to balance himself on the segway; however he plans to improve this as soon as possible. This motorized LEGO device is proof that literally anything is possible with a little innovation and a couple of building blocks. It’s hard to imagine what Burfield will make next. What’s going to trump a LEGO segway? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Motorized Building Block Innovations:** There are endless opportunities to create motorized toys and inventions using building blocks like LEGO. - **Enhanced Toy Personalization:** Combining motorized elements with building block toys allows for more personalized and unique play experiences. - **DIY Motorized Inventions:** Creating motorized inventions using building blocks inspires a DIY spirit of innovation and problem-solving. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Toy Manufacturing:** Toy manufacturers can explore integrating motorized building block elements in their product lines to enhance play experiences and attract customers. - **Education Technology:** The use of motorized building blocks can be incorporated into educational tools and platforms, promoting hands-on learning and creativity. - **Assistive Technology:** The concept of motorized LEGO devices can be further developed to create innovative assistive technology solutions for individuals with mobility limitations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Building Block Scooter Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vespa-125.md) - [Interactive Bloclk Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dancing-hula-girl.md) - [Building Block-Inspired Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-luggage.md) - [Insanely Intricate LEGO Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-rollsroyce.md) - [Responsive Building Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-smart-play-system.md) - [Gravity-Powered Building Block Rollercoasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-loop-coaster.md) - [Tech-Driven Building Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-9.md) - [Hyper-Detailed Motorbike Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-bmw-m-1000-rr.md) - [Lego-Centric Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-my-world.md)
