No... this isn't a new humanoid species that can live under water. This is an [art exhibit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unnatural-history-museum-of-singapore) in the 21st Century Museum of Art of Kanazawa.

Designed by Leandro Erlich, this [illusion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture) is accomplished by [two clear acrylic sheets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/awt-bar) with water in between and a little on top to hide it all. The people are, in fact, "under" the water. When they look up, it looks like an aquarium.

**Implications** - Modern consumers are looking for art that pushes the limits on creativity. Products that stay on the cutting edge while still performing a function are appealing to customers who desire ways to complete their everyday tasks while staying on trend. In order to attract more shoppers, a company could focus on creating more of their items with these two elements in mind.
