Recreated just like the original Lotus Esprit from the movie, this [car transforming submarine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seanxt-elite) is one snazzy underwater ride. Featured in the notoriously popular [James Bond film](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/james-bond-2024-advent) 'The Spy Who Loved Me,' the Lotus Esprit made its appearance flying off the end of a pier into the depths of an ocean. Rather than sink to the bottom, this luxurious car miraculously transformed into an underwater submarine, secret agent-style. With the ability to shoot giant missiles, dive deep and travel unnoticed, this Lotus Esprit probably won't be able to do all those things, but it still makes for a super neat spy-worthy ride. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Recreational Submarines:** Opportunity for luxury car manufacturers to diversify and create recreational submarines based on iconic film cars like the Lotus Esprit. - **Transformative Vehicles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to develop vehicles that seamlessly transform from cars to submarines, catering to a niche market of secret agent enthusiasts. - **Spy-worthy Technology:** Advancements in underwater technology and design to create sophisticated and high-performance submarines with features inspired by spy films. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Luxury Car Manufacturing:** Luxury car manufacturers can explore the market demand for recreational submarines and leverage their brand recognition to create unique and luxurious underwater vehicles. - **Technology and Design:** Opportunity for technology and design sectors to collaborate in developing transformative vehicles that combine elements of luxury cars and submarines. - **Underwater Transportation:** Emerging industry for luxury underwater transportation, catering to high-end clients seeking exclusive and thrilling experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Supercar-Inspired Submersibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uboat-worx-super-sub.md) - [Compact Luxury Submersibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hightech-submersible.md) - [Submarine-Storing Superyachts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/submarine-storing-luxury-yacht.md) - [British Electric Luxury SUVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/type-132.md) - [Luxe Film-Inspired Trinkets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faberg-x-007-octopussy-egg-objet.md) - [Water-Ready Sports Car Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/citron-above-and-under.md) - [Fictional Spy-Inspired Suitvases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/james-bond-carryon-trolley-case.md) - [Slick Hand-Built Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moke-america.md) - [Tourism-Focused Electric Submersibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-submersible.md)
