His impressive portfolio of [realistically rendered heroes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-toys-2) is almost two-thirds-filled with just images of The Man of Steel as played by various actors. To be so talented and only stick with one subject for so long, that's fan dedication that even the most hardcore of geeks can't rival. Many viewers will be surprised to learn that Sebastian Colombo only recently acquired a pen tablet to be used for his [digital illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/movinkpad-pro). What that means is that the artist has been drawing most of his pictures using a computer mouse. For those curious as to how difficult that task truly is, just try writing your name in Photoshop or MS Paint using your mouse. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Realistic Superhero Illustrations:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the digital art industry by utilizing advanced rendering techniques to create lifelike superhero illustrations. - **Dedication to Specific Subject:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the fan art community by developing platforms or tools that cater to artists focused on creating artwork based on a single subject. - **Digital Illustration Tools:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the graphic design industry by developing more intuitive and versatile tools for digital illustration, moving beyond the limitations of using a computer mouse. ### Where This Applies - **Digital Art:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the digital art industry by leveraging new technologies and techniques to push the boundaries of realism in superhero illustrations. - **Fan Art:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the fan art community by creating dedicated platforms or applications that connect artists and enthusiasts interested in specific subjects, such as superhero retrospectives. - **Graphic Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the graphic design industry by developing more advanced digital illustration tools that enhance efficiency and creativity for artists using pen tablets or other input devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [Sci-Fi Show Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yusuke-hanai-1.md) - [Superhero-Themed DIY Art Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jim-lee-batman.md) - [Comic Book Hero Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-book-heros.md) - [Buildable 3D Superhero Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gotham-city-skyline-set.md) - [Superhero-Inspired Pet Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warner-bros-1.md) - [Artistic Game-Inspired Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-de-guzman-1.md) - [3D Superhero Block-Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazing-spiderman-set.md) - [Designer-Targeted Tablet Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pen-tablet.md)
