The ergonomically designed seating system was designed with places like [airports, shopping centers and parks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/departures-seating) in mind, as it has a design that swivels, rocks and shields mothers and babies away from the eyes of the world. As the bench is designed for a public setting, the long portion of the bench is made to accommodate other people in public who could use a seat. Breastfeeding in public only recently became legal in all 50 US states and although some public spaces now offer [dedicated rooms or pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bay-work) to provide nursing mothers and babies some degree of privacy, breastfeeding in public is still somewhat controversial. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Privacy-centric Seating Solutions:** Opportunity for creating innovative seating solutions that prioritize privacy in public settings for specific demographics such as nursing mothers. - **Breastfeeding-friendly Furniture:** Disruptive innovation potential in developing ergonomic seating systems that cater to the needs of breastfeeding mothers in public spaces. - **Publicly Acceptable Nursing Solutions:** Discover opportunities for creating nursing benches and seating options that balance privacy and acceptance in public locations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** Furniture manufacturers can explore the development of specialized seating solutions for specific demographics such as nursing mothers in public spaces. - **Hospitality:** Hotels, airports, and shopping centers can consider implementing breastfeeding-friendly seating systems to provide convenience and comfort for nursing mothers. - **Public Facilities:** Opportunity for public spaces like parks and recreation centers to create inclusive environments for nursing mothers by incorporating privacy-centric seating solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Low-Cost Nursing Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mamaro-portable-baby-room.md) - [Nursing-Friendly Coffees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nursing-friendly-coffee.md) - [Airline Employee Nursing Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nursing-cover.md) - [Customizable Office Privacy Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bay-work-pod.md) - [Collapsible Posture Support Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-portable-seat.md) - [Relaxed Anti-Distraction Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortune-chair.md) - [Artfully Crafted Public Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/us-her-him.md) - [Minimalist Privacy Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-seat-design.md) - [Avian-Inspired Privacy Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peacock-chair-concept.md)
