# Sculptural Spiral Staircases Italian Designer Roberto Semprini Creates Stunning Steps By Marissa Liu | Published 2009-12-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-spiral-staircase References: [momoy](http://www.momoy.com/2009/12/20/modern-spiral-staircase-design-by-roberto-semprini/) & [edilco.it](http://www.edilco.it/italiano.html) This unique sculptural spiral staircase by Roberto Semprini for Edilco is stunning. I am a huge fan of [spiral staircases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/czech-pavilion), they always look so modern and glamorous. The three dimensional design of this staircase makes it seem like a [work of art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables) more than a household necessity. Named 'Rolling,' the sculptural spiral staircase looks like it might be a little difficult to climb (or descend) especially if you were in heels. **Implications** - Many consumers are tired of traditional designs that lack a sense of individuality and flair. Companies would be wise to put modern and innovative twists on regular, household items in order to appeal to this growing number of consumers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sculptural Spiral Staircases:** Incorporating sculptural elements into staircase designs presents a disruptive innovation opportunity to create unique and artistic focal points in homes and commercial spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor and Design:** The home decor and design industry can explore incorporating sculptural spiral staircases into their product offerings, attracting customers seeking modern and artistic statement pieces for their homes. - **Architecture and Construction:** Architects and construction firms can leverage sculptural spiral staircases as a disruptive innovation to create visually striking and functional stairways in residential and commercial buildings. - **Luxury Real Estate:** Luxury real estate developers can integrate sculptural spiral staircases in their properties to enhance the overall aesthetics and add a touch of elegance, offering a unique selling point to potential buyers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bold Architectural Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-iron-house.md) - [Sculptural Townhome Staircases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atelier-pierre-thibault-1.md) - [Dutch Barn Spiralled Staircase](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/julia-van-beuningen.md) - [Contemporary Folding Ladders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scaleo.md) - [Sculptural Experimental Artforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ladder-series.md) - [Timbered Passage Stair Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-annex.md) - [Reimagined Traditional Library Ladders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/step-by-step-ladder.md) - [Spiral-Inspired Minimal Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soul-sculpture-bench.md) - [Sculptural Staircase Penthouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frederic-chopin.md)
