# Tough Industrial Tacks The Screw Push Pin is Industrial-Chic By Carly Foy | Published 2011-04-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/screw-push-pin References: [curatedmag](http://www.curatedmag.com/news/2011/04/07/screw-push-pins/) & [kikkerland](http://www.kikkerland.com/) The [Kikkerland](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camera-multitool) Design firm has created the screw push pin, a decorative push pin that was designed to emulate a screw. The screw push pin, which is available in a pack of 12, is an awesome way to display your memos on your [corkboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/korka). The head of the pin sticks out a little longer than a conventional pin, which allows more detail of the pin to be seen. The extra length showcases a typical screw's twirling shaft, giving it a larger sense of realism when placed in a wall. The screw push pin is a great decorative piece for an industrially designed home. Kikkerland Designs has created another unique approach to conventional, everyday items that most would consider to be boring. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Industrial-chic Decor:** The screw push pin taps into the trend of industrial-chic decor by combining functionality with an industrial aesthetic. - **Creative Office Supplies:** The screw push pin is part of a trend towards creative and unique office supplies that add personality to workspaces. - **Hyperrealistic Design:** The screw push pin represents a trend towards hyperrealistic design, bringing attention to the details of everyday objects. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** The screw push pin disrupts the home decor industry by offering a distinctive and industrial-inspired alternative to conventional push pins. - **Office Supplies:** The screw push pin presents an opportunity for the office supplies industry to offer more visually interesting and personalized products to consumers. - **Design and Manufacturing:** The screw push pin highlights the growing demand for innovative and visually striking designs in the manufacturing industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimal Paper Sconces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pin-sconce.md) - [Titanium Pocket Screwdriver](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xs-screwdriver.md) - [Galactic-Inspired Stationary Pins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planet-pins.md) - [Sleek Cordless Screwdrivers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoto-cordless-screwdriver.md) - [Compact Spinning Screwdrivers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allinone-screwdriver.md) - [Screw-Inspired Industrial Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/set-table-lamp.md) - [Titanium Maker Screwdrivers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolt-action-screwdriver.md) - [Modern Design-Conscious Power Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoto-36v-screwdriver.md) - [Tech-Packed Cordless Screwdrivers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoto-pixeldrive.md)
