# Contemporary Screen Lamps The Beaubien Light is a Divider-Like Piece Composed of Tubes and Bulbs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-04-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/screen-lamp References: [archidesignclub](http://www.archidesignclub.com/magazine/rubriques/design/46669-lambert-fils-la-beaubien.html) & [lambertetfils.squarespace](http://www.lambertetfils.squarespace.com/products/) It might not be until you consider this screen lamp that you'll realize how most lights are accented by forms in fairly even three dimensions. Called the Beaubien, this illuminator has been manufactured as a large and flat object, inspired by Chinese folding screens. [Lambert & Fils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-lighting-design) Studio used [tubular metal components](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-light-totem-i) to sculpt a rounded rectangular frame with straight and L-shaped sections that hold frosted lightbulbs of various sizes. These are pointed up, down and sideways for a dynamic composition that serves as art and illumination combined. The piece can be supported by a stand, fastened to the wall, or even suspended as a pendant lamp. The creation of this screen lamp demonstrates the great potential of designing outside of archetypal forms. With this, practical products can double as decoration. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Flat Lighting:** Designing large and flat lights that also serve as decoration can lead to disruptive innovation opportunities for interior lighting in residential and commercial spaces. - **Tubular Illumination:** The use of tubular metal components as a sculptural element in lighting design can lead to disruptive innovation opportunities for customizable lighting solutions. - **Dynamic Composition Lamps:** Designing lamps with lightbulbs pointed up, down, and sideways for a dynamic composition can lead to disruptive innovation opportunities in creating functional and artistic lighting solutions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Introducing flat screen lamps that also serve as decoration can lead to disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry, especially for space-saving solutions for small or unconventional spaces. - **Lighting Design:** The use of tubular metal components and dynamic composition in lighting design can lead to disruptive innovation opportunities in the lighting industry, especially for customizable and modular lighting solutions. - **Architecture:** Incorporating sculptural lighting solutions such as the Beaubien in architecture designs can lead to disruptive innovation opportunities in creating unique and functional spaces that are both illuminated and decorative. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Three-in-One Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bell-lamp.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Sculptural Metal Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape.md) - [Interconnecting Component Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-table-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Structural Two-Part Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luno-lamp.md) - [Minimal Aesthetic Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light.md)
