Based out of Portland, Oregon, the Unipiper is known for not only bagpiping, but for doing so on a [unicycle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inmotion-v9) in costume. Plus, the bagpipes are a flaming variety. In his latest stunt, the artist otherwise known as Brian Kidd can be seen cycling down a freeway playing the Scottish bagpipes and dressed head to toe like Jack Sparrow. Johnny Depp famously played the swaggering pirate in [Disney's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-ones-episodes) Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. In a reference to Sparrow, Kidd implies [all the rum](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unregular-bakery) had gone into the bagpipes and that's why they were on fire. This is all the more appropriate considering today is Talk Like a Pirate Day. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Costumed Performance Art:** There is an opportunity to explore more creative and interactive ways of reaching audiences through costumed performance art. - **Unorthodox Musical Instruments:** There is an opportunity to create unconventional and unique musical experiences through the use of unorthodox musical instruments. - **Multitasking Entertainers:** There is an opportunity to provide audiences with more dynamic and engaging entertainment experiences through multitasking performers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can explore new ways of engaging audiences with costumed performance art, unorthodox musical instruments, and multitasking entertainers. - **Tourism:** The tourism industry can attract visitors by offering unique and unconventional entertainment experiences that can include costumed performance art, unorthodox musical instruments, and multitasking entertainers. - **Street Performance:** The street performance industry can benefit from incorporating costumed performance art and unorthodox musical instruments into their acts to attract and engage larger audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Circus-Themed Whiskys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ardbeg-spectacular.md) - [Tartan-Themed Spirit Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-glenlivet-taking-back-tartan.md) - [Shreddable Steampunk Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-guitar.md) - [Festive Irish-Inspired Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/irishinspired-popup.md) - [Floating Escape Rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-escape-room.md) - [Tartan-Patterned Spirit Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bespoke-tartan.md) - [Whisky-Branded Summer Parties](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bastids-bbq-party.md) - [Pirate-Inspired Business Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/run-a-tighter-ship.md) - [Halloween Ice Cream Trucks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monster-ice-scream-truck-tour.md)
