# Pigeon-Posed Lighting The Scooby-Doo Table Lamp by Giorgio Bonaguro has Minimalist Character By Meghan Young | Published 2012-08-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scoobydoo-table-lamp References: [hypebeast](http://hypebeast.com/2012/08/scooby-doo-table-lamp-by-giorgio-bonaguro/) & [bonagurogiorgio](http://www.bonagurogiorgio.com/) The Scooby-Doo Table Lamp may not be what people are expecting from such a name, but it does highlight the simple whimsical properties this design has. Instead of resembling a Great Dane or other similar mixed breeds, this lamp is incredibly [modern and minimalist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delite-20). The [clean lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light) and [basic lamp shade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp) is not even something that would be found in Shaggy Rogers' apartment. Nevertheless, the Scooby-Doo Table Lamp would make a great household companion. Created by Italian designer Giorgio Bonaguro for Brazilian manufacturer La Lampe, the Scooby-Doo Table Lamp contrasts rich materials with a basic design. The stand does have a quirky element, however, that is reminiscent of the pigeon pose in yoga. The red cord also adds character to the light fixture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Lighting:** Opportunity to create modern lighting designs with minimalist aesthetics that go against traditional styles. - **Contrasting Materials:** Opportunity to create designs that play with mixing rich materials such as brass with simple, minimal lampshades. - **Quirky Elements:** Opportunity to add unexpected elements to designs such as the pigeon pose-inspired stand in the Scooby-Doo Table Lamp. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting Design:** Illumination designers can create modern minimal designs that offer a departure from traditional lamp shapes and materials. - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can integrate minimalist lighting into their product line to appeal to customers that value contemporary design. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can design furniture with integrated lighting solutions, using unique design elements to add character and functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Character-Like Wireless Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puddy-table-lamp.md) - [Playful Table Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toto-lamp.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Dimmable Dog Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grejsimojs.md) - [Bold Playful Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Weighted Multi-Position Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-desk-lamp-design.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md)
