This extraordinary art series takes existing buildings from cities across America and drops them into exquisite Martian-like backgrounds. There’s something about seeing these beautiful modern buildings removed from the city that makes it easier to appreciate as remarkable works of art. In Ryder’s ingenious art project, these inspired buildings are placed in remote, nature-filled settings with striking, sepia-tone skies. The serene backdrops really make these futuristic structures pop, allowing the viewer to examine them as if they were seeing them for the first time. These photos really do look like they were taken in some stunning foreign planet very similar to our own. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sci-fi Architecture:** Exploring the fusion of futuristic design elements with real-world structures to create visually striking art pieces. - **Nature-inspired Backdrops:** Utilizing serene, nature-filled settings as backgrounds to enhance the aesthetic appeal of architectural photography. - **Fictional Realism:** Blurring the boundaries between fantasy and reality by juxtaposing modern buildings in Martian-like environments. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture and Design:** Opportunity for architects to incorporate sci-fi elements in their designs and push the boundaries of traditional aesthetics. - **Art and Photography:** Potential for artists and photographers to explore new ways of presenting architectural structures and challenge viewers' perceptions. - **Tourism and Travel:** Possibility to create unique travel experiences centered around visiting locations inspired by fictionalized versions of real-world structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Space-Themed Puzzled Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-carter.md) - [Laser-Cut Urban Artistry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-cut-city-maps.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [Sustainable Futures Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planet-city.md) - [Colorful Metaverse Cities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metaverse-cities.md) - [Whimsical Sculptural Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-block-series.md) - [Futuristic Cultural Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lucas-museum-of-narrative-arts.md) - [UK-Based Modern Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/relics-in-the-landscape.md) - [Galactic-Themed Sci-Fi Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-cloud.md)
