The Scala collection is a leather furniture series comprised of two three-legged tables, a three-legged stool, and two cabinets set on thick solid wooden legs. The ribbed leather structure detail is inspired by a building that Parmentier has encountered in [Milan](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/il-salotto-milanese). The building had a stacked shape made in stone, so the designer reimagines the concept with leather. The biggest challenge in crafting the Scala collection was getting the leather to smoothly adhere onto the curved wooden surfaces. The leather was humidified, stretched, and glues carefully onto the chairs to achieve the smooth and light look.
