For a two-story family home located in Ely, Cambridgeshire, local studio [Mole Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-roof) develops a striking sawtooth brick facade that definitely captures the attention of passers-by. The highly sculptural aesthetic of the exterior is politely derived from the city's famous cathedral. The [pitched roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eight-gables) definitely adds a sound element to the entire home composition. This stylistic element is also derived from the original source of inspiration and it playfully "replicates the angle of the cathedral's nave."

The sawtooth brick facade definitely evokes an intricate play of linearity that not only visually engages the public but also accents the neighborhood. While Mole Architects set out to bring a sculptural note to the appearance of the house, the interior is kept relatively minimalist and modern.
