Looking to increase the level of privacy for the occupants of a [single-family home in Tokyo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-project-in-tokyo), Japan, agency Satoru Hirota had to take a variety of restrictions into account.

As the height of the home was limited, designers had to be careful to not add any vertical increases to the [House of Fluctuations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kwk-promes-open-house) -- which made maximizing the space a little tougher. In addition to this, the neighborhood the home is situated in is overly populated, meaning that a lack of privacy was becoming a way of life for Satoru Hirota's clients and there wasn't much space to work with.

In order to improve this, designers adjusted the entrance to have the dual-purpose of shielding a large amount of the home -- without making it feel too isolated. When considering how best to maximize the space inside, Satoru Hirota decided to go for a [minimalist look](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-house) -- immensely helping to open up the space.
