According to the project's web page, Sapore Dei Mobili "was born as a reflection about the velocity of the contemporary furniture industry, and how the consumers are unable to digest the huge amount of new products launched every year."

The artist has a point, as there is a constant influx of [modern furniture developments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metamorphosis-collection-2) that consumers are exposed to on a daily basis. Like technology, what is new and modish in regards to [architecture and interior design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartamento-secreto) soon becomes passé, as emerging artists and companies reveal their upcoming installments.

Sapore Dei Mobili (tasting furniture) addresses this issue by combining traditional Japanese small cakes with a Portguese egg-based pastry.
