The series, titled 'Sea Stars Time,' incorporates, as its name suggests, aspects of the ocean, of time and of the cosmos. Each illustration features one large sphere orbited by two smaller spheres. The large sphere is full of water -- intended to represent the sea -- and portrays some representation of nature or man, while the smaller spheres merely contain water. Durieux's illustrative style is reminiscent of [Japanese kawaii](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hello-kitty-and-algae). It is undeniably cute and uses soft shades of pastel colors like blue, pink and yellow to affect levity in the viewer. From [octopuses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-vuitton-octopus) to mountain peaks, Santiago Durieux illustrations incorporate elemental forces into adorable, lighthearted designs. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Nature-inspired Artwork:** This trend presents disruptive innovation opportunities for eco-conscious companies looking to incorporate sustainable and natural elements into their branding and marketing. - **Japanese Kawaii Style Illustration:** This trend presents disruptive innovation opportunities for brands looking for a playful, cute, and lighthearted approach to advertising, especially among younger audiences. - **Incorporating Ocean and Cosmos Themes:** This trend presents disruptive innovation opportunities for companies looking for ways to incorporate themes of nature, time, and space to enhance the appeal and uniqueness of their products and services. ### Where This Applies - **Eco-friendly Products:** The nature-inspired artwork trend presents disruptive innovation opportunities for eco-conscious companies looking to incorporate sustainable and natural elements into their branding and marketing, such as sustainable fashion brands, natural beauty products, and organic food producers. - **Children's Products:** The Japanese Kawaii style illustration trend presents disruptive innovation opportunities for children's products, such as toys, accessories, and clothing brands, that incorporate playful and cute designs. - **Travel and Hospitality:** The incorporating ocean and cosmos themes trend presents disruptive innovation opportunities for travel and hospitality companies looking to incorporate unique design elements inspired by the sea and the cosmos, such as hotels, restaurants, and cruise ships. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sea-Inspired Mini Sculpture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Juxtaposing Artful Collaborative Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-galaxy.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Starry-Eyed Dichroic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starryeyed-dichroic-sculpture.md) - [3D-Printed Star Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miami-reef-star.md) - [Sculpturally Provocative Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sculptural-vase.md) - [Playful Cat Illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/open-meow.md) - [Interactive Marine Ecosystem Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marine-ecosystem-sculptures.md)
