# Blossoming Tables Sanna Lindstrom and Sigrid Stromgren's 'Grand Central' is Amazing By Luisa Amanda Gomes | Published 2010-04-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanna-lindstrom-and-sigrid-stromgen-grand-central References: [beautifullife.info](http://www.beautifullife.info/interior-design/like-a-flower/) & [sannasigrid](http://www.sannasigrid.com/) Sanna Lindstrom and Sigrid Stromgren's 'Grand Central' table is quite a wonder to behold. The Swedish design duo have created a unique [folding table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table) like you've never seen before. Since it's a large table, it might be quite inconvenient to put away. However, the designers have implemented a design where such a large table won't take up so much space when it's not in use. With folds in the table like the [petals of a flower](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flore), it folds away like a sleeping bud. How awesome is that? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Foldable Furniture:** Designing furniture that can easily fold and take up less space when not in use can be a disruptive innovation opportunity in the furniture industry - **Space-saving Tables:** Creating space-saving tables that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing can be a disruptive innovation opportunity in the furniture industry - **Innovative Table Design:** Developing innovative table designs that incorporate unique folding mechanisms can be a disruptive innovation opportunity in the furniture industry ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Industry:** The furniture industry can benefit from embracing foldable furniture that saves space and offers convenient storage solutions - **Home Improvement Industry:** The home improvement industry can benefit from incorporating innovative furniture designs that enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of living spaces - **Interior Design Industry:** The interior design industry can benefit from showcasing unique and innovative furniture designs that elevate the aesthetic appeal of living spaces ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Industrial Shapeshifting Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jointable.md) - [Elegant Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-table.md) - [Compact Folding Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pelin-ozbalci.md) - [Folding Scandinavian Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lounge-table.md) - [Elegant Extending Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnolia-extendable-dining-table.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md) - [Colorful Contemporary Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/runda-tables.md) - [Multifuntional Modular Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table.md)
