Hats off to the peeps being the first ever sandcastle hotel / sand hotel. The concept isn't only a great idea, the execution is as well. For example, your room includes its own flags. The world's first, the sandcastle hotel was built in Weymouth, Dorset. It is - of course - a blatant PR stunt. The sandcastle was used to promote the Great British Beach Holiday.

It took 4 sculptors, 7 days, 1 JCB and 1000 tonnes of sand to make the hotel which covers 50 square metres and is more than 3.6m high. You can stay in the hotel for £10 per night. How much fun would that be? Although, Weymouth is in the arse-end of nowhere: Geographically it was chosen as its sand has been recognized as being perfect for sand sculpting.

The whole concept reminds me of the [room made of chocolate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kymaia-hotel):
