# Dune-Like Fire Pits This Sand Dune Fire Pit Brings a Desert Touch to Bonfires By Eric Westcott | Published 2014-03-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sand-dune-fire-pit References: [gadgetsmatrix](http://gadgetsmatrix.com/archives/sand-dune-36-hand-crafted-steel-fire-pit/33741) & [thefirepitgallery](http://thefirepitgallery.com/g-sand-dune-fire-pit.html) Having a [bonfire](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yeti-fire-pit) is the best way to end a fun-filled summer day and this sand dune fire pit will have you feeling like you are sitting in a desert. With gentle curves and slopes, this hand-made steel fire pit closely resembles the silhouette of a sand dune. With the sand dune fire pit having an uneven rim, the flames will bounce of the rim in an intricate dance of fire. Safety and maintenance are looked after during the design phase. With a 115 pound weight, you will feel safe knowing that the sand dune fire pit will not tip over while lit. During rainy weather, the basin will syphon water through a [built-in drain](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luneup) that feeds the water out the base of the pit. This is an excellent addition to any cottage. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sand Dune-inspired Design:** Opportunity for companies to create unique products with a sand dune aesthetic. - **Safety and Maintenance Innovation:** Potential for businesses to develop fire pits that prioritize safety and easy maintenance. - **Outdoor Ambiance Enhancements:** Industry players can explore ways to enhance outdoor ambiance through unique fire pit designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home and Garden:** Opportunity for the home and garden industry to create innovative fire pit designs. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Outdoor recreation industry can tap into the trend by offering sand dune-themed fire pits. - **Hospitality and Tourism:** Businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector can incorporate sand dune fire pits to enhance guest experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Floral-Inspired Concrete Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunflower-fire-pit.md) - [Dining Table Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tabletop-fire-pit.md) - [Portable Fire Pit Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-pit-stand.md) - [Flatpack Campsite Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bbq-fire-pit.md) - [Ultra-Durable Portable Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flamurs-kaleidoscope.md) - [Elegant Firepit Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backyard-firepit.md) - [Rounded Smoke-Free Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smokeless-fire-pit.md) - [Oxidized Outdoor Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eva-solo-firecube.md) - [Foldable Fire Pit Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firebase.md)
