Yet it is a [piece of furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3) first and foremost. What sets it apart from similar armoires is its attention to detail as well as its [sculptural application](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cromatica). The Samurai Cabinet is made up of [blade-like wooden arms that rotate independently](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metamorphosis-collection-2) of each other in order to create different shapes and silhouettes. Designed by Sebastian Errazuriz, who is known for his [abundance](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sebastian-errazuriz) of [creativity](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cool-home-decor), the Samurai Cabinet puts on quite the performance. Core77 writes, "The arms jump to action with a simple slide of the finger, thanks to a counterbalanced pivot point on each of the planks—flip an entire side of wooden arms at once and your ears are in for a treat." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sculpturally Rotating Furniture:** The trend of sculpturally rotating furniture offers disruptive innovation opportunities for creating unique and customizable pieces that can transform the look of a space. - **Attention to Detail in Furniture Design:** The trend of attention to detail in furniture design provides disruptive innovation opportunities for incorporating intricate and visually striking elements into functional furniture pieces. - **Interactive Furniture Experiences:** The trend of interactive furniture experiences opens up disruptive innovation opportunities for designing furniture that engages and entertains users, creating memorable and immersive experiences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities in creating sculpturally rotating furniture that adds a unique selling point to their product portfolio. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can tap into the trend of attention to detail in furniture design to offer clients personalized and visually stunning spaces. - **Home Decor Retail:** The home decor retail industry can embrace the trend of interactive furniture experiences to create memorable shopping experiences that engage customers and drive sales. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Thoughtful Wheeling Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet-on-wheels.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Angular Transforming Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optimus-furniture.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Japanese-Inspired Cabinet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/veil-cabinets.md) - [Playful Rotating Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giralot-rotating-storage.md) - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Sculptural Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-wall-desk.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md)
