# Screen-Swapping Televisions Samsung MSTV Lets You Instantly Increase the Size of Your Flatscreen By Michael Hines | Published 2011-08-26 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-mstv References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/08/24/3-d-tv-heaven/) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/dumary) I think it is safe to say that even tech neophytes will be blown away by the [Samsung](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-movingstyle) MSTV. Designed by Joseph Dumary, the Samsung MSTV is a conceptual 3D TV designed to fit screens as small as 22 inches and as large as 64 inches. The Samsung MSTV isn't actually a TV at all. The MSTV (multi-screen TV) is actually a stand that can hold different screens. The screens themselves display the picture and can be switched out seamlessly should you ever need to downsize or want to up-size. The screens themselves are designed to be [razor-thin](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oled-evo-w6) and have no edges. The Samsung MSTV is powered by Android and can communicate and be controlled by other Android-powered devices like oh, let's say, the Samsung [Galaxy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galaxy-z-trifold). The Samsung MSTV is also designed to be eco-friendly, with its AMOLED+panel using natural light to provide the TV's back light during the day. Unfortunately, the Samsung MSTV is still just a concept. Maybe one day Samsung will act on this design, but for now you'll just have to check out conceptual renderings of the MSTV here. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Screen-swapping Televisions:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the television industry by introducing a multi-screen TV concept that allows users to easily switch out screens and resize their viewing experience. - **Razor-thin Screens:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the display industry by developing razor-thin screens with no edges, providing a seamless and immersive viewing experience. - **Eco-friendly TV Technology:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the TV industry by incorporating eco-friendly features such as using natural light as the TV's backlight, reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainability. ### Where This Applies - **Television:** The television industry can embrace the concept of screen-swapping televisions, offering consumers the flexibility to adapt their viewing experience and potentially revolutionizing the way TVs are designed. - **Display:** The display industry can explore the development of razor-thin screens with no edges, setting new standards for display technologies and enhancing the visual experience across various devices. - **Smart Home:** The smart home industry can integrate eco-friendly TV technology into their products, creating more sustainable and energy-efficient solutions that align with the growing demand for environmentally-friendly home automation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Battery-Powered Smart TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-movingstyle.md) - [Suspended Removable Display TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcl-dune-tv.md) - [Wall-Sized Premium 4K Televisions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/4k-qled-tv.md) - [Immersive Imaginative TV Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-magnit-active-micro-led-tv.md) - [Immersive Artistic TV Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/micro-led-tv.md) - [Precision Color Accuracy TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-micro-rgb.md) - [Malleable Furniture-Like TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexible-oled-display.md) - [Folding Movable Smart TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floattv.md) - [Connected Touchscreen TV Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcl-telly-table.md)
