The [fitness wearable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allai-wearable1) is now capable of doing some of the important things without the need for a helping hand. For instance, it has its own own music player as well as 4 GB of onboard storage for music files. Of course, those are loaded through a paired smartphone. In addition to that, the Samsung Gear Fit2 also has a [built-in GPS radio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-maps-navigation) that allows the wearer to run their maps even if they leave their smartphone at home. Beyond that, the Samsung Gear Fit2 can recognize when you've started to workout and start to track whatever activity you're engaging in automatically. This makes the system much more instinctual. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Independent Fitness Wearables:** The trend toward fitness wearables with independent capabilities, such as the Samsung Gear Fit2, opens up opportunities to create new features and innovations that don't rely on smartphones. - **Music-enabled Fitness Wearables:** The trend towards fitness wearables with music players, such as the Samsung Gear Fit2, presents opportunities for music-related innovations in the fitness industry. - **Gps-enabled Wearables:** The popularity of GPS-enabled wearables, such as the Samsung Gear Fit2, presents opportunities for new location-based features in the fitness and travel industries. ### Where This Applies - **Fitness Wearables:** The Samsung Gear Fit2 represents a trend in the fitness wearables industry towards devices with increasingly independent capabilities, which opens up opportunities for new innovations and features. - **Consumer Electronics:** The trend towards fitness wearables with independent capabilities, such as the Samsung Gear Fit2, represents an opportunity for innovation in the consumer electronics industry as more manufacturers develop standalone, feature-rich devices. - **Travel:** The GPS capabilities of devices like the Samsung Gear Fit2 represent a trend towards location-based features, which presents opportunities for innovation in the travel industry by enabling new types of experiences and enhanced convenience for travelers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Advanced Mini Fitness Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-fit3.md) - [Active Lifestyle-Focused Smartwatches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aurafit-g12.md) - [AI Fitness Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garmin-ai-fitness-watch.md) - [Feature-Packed Fitness Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sense-2.md) - [Healthy Habit-Promoting Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-watch6.md) - [Health-Focused Smartwatch Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galaxy-watch4.md) - [Opulent Workout-Tracking Smartwatches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-watch-2-pro.md) - [Accessible LTE-Enabled Smartwatches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-watch-fe-lte.md) - [Personalized Fitness Plan Smartwatches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazfit-active.md)
