# Locating Luggage Tags The Samsonite Stork Bag Tag Keeps Tabs on Your Possessions in Transit By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-02-13 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsonite-stork References: [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/Samsonite-Stork-A-Smarter-Way-to-Travel/4827613) It's amazing how many [suitcases get lost between airports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luggage-losers) each year -- a number that would draw you to a [Samsonite](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsonite-elevation-plus) Stork travel tag immediately. Alan Ng's concept was to place a Wi-Fi and [RFID-enabled chip](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gd-smart-label) inside of your luggage label so that you can track its location from your very own smartphone. The baggage tag would comprise a durable peripheral case that would contain two AMOLED displays with ultra-thin electronic components pressed between them. A micro USB port and a micro USB drive would facilitate the easy recharging of the battery and the storage of information. The Samsonite Stork would lock around your valise and communicate with you through a mobile app. The GPS would show you its location, as well as within-range notifications for when your things are close-by and ready for pickup in the terminal. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Boomers](https://www.trendhunter.com/boomers) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Smart Luggage Tracking:** Developing luggage tags with built-in Wi-Fi and RFID technology for real-time tracking and location updates. - **Durable Electronic Components:** Creating ultra-thin electronic components with AMOLED displays that can withstand the rigors of travel. - **Mobile App Integration:** Integrating luggage tracking systems with mobile apps to provide users with convenient and accessible location information. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Travel and Tourism:** The travel and tourism industry can benefit from implementing smart luggage tracking systems to enhance customer experience and reduce lost luggage incidents. - **Electronics and Technology:** The electronics and technology industry can explore opportunities in developing innovative and durable electronic components for smart luggage tracking tags. - **Mobile Application Development:** The mobile application development industry can capitalize on integrating luggage tracking systems with user-friendly mobile apps for seamless travel experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Location-Tracking Luggage Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taglock-travel-lock.md) - [Connected Luggage Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knog-scout-travel.md) - [Trackable Smart Luggage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casesafe.md) - [Discreet Trackable Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qantas-x-july.md) - [Luggage Tracking Safety Technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lost-luggage-tracker.md) - [Tech-Equipped Suitcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oogo-smart-luggage.md) - [NFC-Enabled Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/straw-suitcases.md) - [Trackable Travel Wallets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trackable-passport-wallet.md) - [Mini Luggage-Compatible Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airtag.md)
