Sammy Slabbinck's mixed media artwork is rather comical. He combines a fun remix of [pop culture references](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kenny-scharf-and-axel) mixed with [vintage imagery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kristofferson-san-pablo). The artist is heavily influenced by old vintage magazines from the 50s through to the 70s, which is why he predominately likes to incorporate that into his artwork (but with a modern twist).

Slabbinck's artwork is eye-catching because of his creative use of color and object placement. What particularly caught my eye was the photo replicating Google Maps. The playful mix of [old school photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thrilljoy-pix) and new-age technologies is a juxtaposition that isn't commonly seen.
