Since hopping into a Time Machine isn't possible just yet, Samantha Decker cleverly juxtaposes [modern day images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfiestory) on top of [vintage ones concerning the same location](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timemap) in order to show the difference a few years have made. Titled 'Now & Then: Seeing the Future from the Past,' Samantha Decker essentially puts her own spin on this [photography fad](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nonnas-cam). Instead of seamlessly blending in the scenes, she lets her hand stay in the frame in order to show her active involvement. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Time Travel Photography:** Using modern day images and vintage ones, time travel photography captures the difference a few years have made. - **Futuristic Nostalgia:** Fusing past and present, futuristic nostalgia provides a unique perspective on the evolution of time. - **Active Involvement Photography:** Incorporating the photographer's hand in the frame showcases active involvement and adds a personal touch to the images. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** The photography industry can explore new techniques and styles to capture time travel experiences and create engaging content. - **Travel and Tourism:** The travel and tourism industry can leverage time travel photography to showcase the transformation of destinations and attract visitors. - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can embrace futuristic nostalgia as a creative concept and incorporate it into various visual mediums and installations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Memory Tracking Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thennow.md) - [Sculptural Scrolling Photo Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flash-back-device-concept.md) - [Scent-Powered Photo Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scent-stimulation-device.md) - [Social Media Post History](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/time-machine-x.md) - [Analog Nostalgia Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/back-to-basics-ii.md) - [Stacked Stone Camera Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-nostalgia-of-now.md) - [Retro-Futurism Video Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-8-camera-concept.md)
