Sam Kurd has designed a nifty-looking joystick that's definitely out of this world. The designer draws inspiration from steam punk and it certainly shows. The entire body has a transparent frame which is filled with gears that plays along with the [alternative sci-fi theme](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keysme-lunar-02). The actual joystick itself has a beautiful [transparent knob](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/8bitdo-arcade), which, if you peer inside of it, consists of a [small mechanical clock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock) with a classic vintage look. Additional features that Kurd has added include a blue-green LED light at the bottom of the stick and a white light that illuminates when pressed. It doesn't even matter if you're a fan of steam punk, because the whole design of the joypad itself is incredibly impressive. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Custom Joystick Designs:** Opportunity for creating unique and visually stunning joystick designs that stand out in the market. - **Steampunk-inspired Accessories:** Potential for developing a range of steampunk-inspired accessories for gamers and enthusiasts. - **Transparent and Illuminated Gaming Accessories:** Market potential for transparent and illuminated gaming accessories that offer a visually captivating experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Gaming Hardware:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for companies to create innovative and visually striking gaming hardware. - **Custom Design Services:** Opportunity for custom design services to cater to the demand for unique and personalized gaming accessories. - **Steampunk Fashion and Accessories:** Potential for steampunk fashion and accessory industries to collaborate with gaming companies and offer crossover products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gamer-Designed Custom Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-controller.md) - [Industrial Gaming Controller Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dyson-gamepad.md) - [Arcade-Style Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octopus-arcade-stick.md) - [Industrial Video Game Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-gamepad-1.md) - [Premium Flight Simulator Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sol-r-1-flightstick.md) - [Retro-Style Game Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-flight-stick.md) - [Modular Gaming Controller Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multiverse-controller.md) - [Electromagnetic Joystick Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gulikit-kingkong-2-pro.md) - [Heavy Arcade Joysticks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qanba-titan.md)
