# Self-Contained Shakers SaltSide Out Dispenser Stores Sodium Chloride in the Receptacle's Surrounds By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-11-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saltside-out References: [7gadgets](http://www.7gadgets.com/2011/11/11/saltside-out/44396) & [worldwidefred](http://www.worldwidefred.com/saltsideout.htm) The sorts of [salt and pepper shakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pepper-sea-salt) you that you would find at casual diners have become iconic in appearance, so much so that the SaltSide Out dispenser has been inspired their standard aesthetic. The narrowing multifaceted glass vessel with the bulbous metal top has been encapsulated in a transparent cylinder which acts as the true seasoning dispenser. A rubber stoppered opening in the container can be filled with white saline grains which fall into the gap between the outside of the [hand-blown borosilicate salt shaker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-collection-1) and the inside of the see-through capsule. One small single hole in the top of the Fred & Friends canister supplies the tasty granules which whimsically bury the inner jar of the SaltSide Out.
