At a first glance, you’d never know that the seat of the ‘2R Armchair’ has parts made from salmon leather. Upon closer inspection, the fish scales can be seen on the fabric; the unique texture provides an interesting contrast to the smoothness of the chair's [wooden frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedia-tonda).

Designer Javier Ramirez uses locally sourced materials from Chile to create the chair, like Lenga wood and salmon leather. Although it seems like an unusual textile choice, the fishy ‘eco-leather’ can be dyed and treated just like any other leather. Ramirez’ design is a smart, [sustainable one](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-limbo-chair) that makes use of the unconventional and widely available material.

The handcrafted '2R Armchair' is simple in its design, getting its name from the angular R-shaped profile of the chair. Aside from its stunning physical form, the chair is especially beautiful in its consideration for the environment.
