# Hidden-Blade Adhesive Holders This Safety Tape Dispenser Keeps Sharp Edges Away from Fingertips By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-01-09 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safety-tape-dispenser References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/design-that-sticks-safer-desktop-sticky-tape-dispenser/) & [joonghochoi](http://www.joonghochoi.com) With their serrated edges, standard Scotch Tape dispensers can benefit from some small improvements. Enlisting the help of Joongho Choi, this safety tape dispenser was developed, removing the potential hazard from its exposed position. This designer's solution was to integrate the rough blade into the body of his reusable desktop device, keeping it out of sight and out of reach. The contraption was thus given a pair of rotary components, including the roll holder and a safe slicer wheel. To obtain a piece of sticky tape, you simply turn the dial on the side of the apparatus. A single piece will be cut and supplied. This safety tape dispenser is ideal for classrooms especially, and as a tool for those who do constant and quick taping. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hidden-blade Integration:** Opportunity for inventors to develop new products which integrate sharp safety hazards in a safe way. - **Safe-design Revolution:** Develop and distribute products which eliminate or reduce the potential for safety hazards in commonly used items. - **Desktop Tool Safety:** Invent and innovate a wide variety of desktop tools which integrate safety features in order to become more user-friendly, safe and effective. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Manufacturing:** Innovative manufacturing companies have an opportunity to develop safe products that meet users' requirements. - **Office Products and Supplies:** Manufacturers of office supplies have an opportunity to produce innovative ergonomic supplies with integrated safety features. - **Children's Products:** There is an opportunity for kids' products to provide the required safety required and be child-friendly with integrated safety features. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Clamping Stationery Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peleg-design-clamptape.md) - [Two-Way Cutter Scissors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hakoake-portable-scissors.md) - [Durably Designed Box Cutters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-box-opener.md) - [Sleek Rounded Measuring Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enso-tape.md) - [Precision Utility Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bq-s1.md) - [Structural Box Cutter Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-box-cutter.md) - [Easily Serviced Utility Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toughbuilt-reload-utility-knife.md) - [Edible Food-Safe Adhesives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tastee-tape.md) - [Sensibly Sharp Elevated Knives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-task-knife.md)
