Even for the most experienced skiers and hikers, getting lost or stranded due to unpredictable weather conditions is inevitable. The Safe Mate GPS device allows users to engage in a two-way conversation through a mobile company as well as emitting the user's current location. An added function, which is extremely useful for all people but especially for women and the elderly, is an alarm system that alerts others that they are in danger, making travelling alone and at night a little safer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **GPS Safety Devices:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced GPS safety devices with two-way communication and alarm systems for personal safety. - **Winter Sports Safety:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative solutions and technologies to enhance safety for winter sports enthusiasts, such as GPS devices specifically designed for skiing and hiking. - **Personal Safety Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the development of personal safety technologies that can be used by vulnerable populations, such as women and the elderly, to enhance their sense of security when traveling alone. ### Where This Applies - **Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine GPS technology with safety features to create innovative products that address personal safety needs. - **Sports:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with winter sports industry to develop safety technologies and devices that ensure the well-being of athletes and enthusiasts. - **Personal Security:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Innovate personal security products and solutions to cater to the needs of vulnerable populations, such as women and the elderly, for enhanced peace of mind. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Women’s Safety Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/im-safe.md) - [Connected Personal Safety Alarms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pom-safe.md) - [Senior-Targeted Wearable Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lifeline-canada.md) - [Wearable Satellite Communicators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-global-hotspot.md) - [Employee-Focused Personal Safety Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-safety-devices.md) - [Emergency Alert Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/protechme.md) - [All-in-One GPS Guide Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-gps-guide.md) - [Portable Safety Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/armorsiren-portable-security-system.md) - [User-Friendly Personal Safety Technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-safety-technology.md)
