# Lock-Down Domiciles The Safe House by KWK Promes is Both Open and Impenetrable By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-04-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safe-house-by-kwk-promes References: [knstrct](http://knstrct.com/2011/04/10/the-safe-house/) & [kwkpromes.pl](http://www.kwkpromes.pl/) If an ounce of you is paranoid about your home being burgled, perhaps tear a page from the story of the Safe House by [KWK Promes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-open-house-1). Difficult to be described as anything but a [fortress](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hollywood-hills-house-1), this impenetrable habitat can be instantly opened with a simple touch of a button. Even during a quick trip to the corner store, you might be tempted to give stronghold mode a go. Just as quickly as it reveals itself, the dwelling can be barred completely with [concrete walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/south-yarra-house) brought over all windows, doors and even the driveway. A complex set of security decoding is necessary to enter, but when you do, windows emerge, the landscape is let in and even a cantilevered second story walkway draws down to reveal the Safe House by KWK Promes as the tranformer it is. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Impenetrable Dwellings:** Designing homes with advanced security features and technologies to protect against burglary and intrusion. - **Smart Home Security:** Integrating digital and automation technologies to enhance home security and provide convenient access control. - **Transforming Architecture:** Creating structures with dynamic and adjustable elements that can change the layout and appearance of a building. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Security Systems:** Developing and providing innovative solutions for securing residential properties and protecting belongings. - **Architecture and Design:** Exploring new possibilities in architectural design to create transformative and secure living spaces. - **Construction Materials:** Developing advanced building materials that offer increased security and flexibility for residential structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Privacy Enhanced Minimal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-open-house-1.md) - [Blocky Stone Perimeter Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forte-house.md) - [Underground Autonomous Shelter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plan-b-1.md) - [Hidden Resort Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-1.md) - [Compact Urban Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-house.md) - [Angular Stealthy Holiday Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stay-under-the-radar.md) - [Park-Nestled Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-serra.md) - [Dedicated Residential Delivery Doors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parcel-safe.md) - [Trapezoidal Concrete Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ksa-studen.md)
