# Vibrant Horseback Seats The Adorable Saddle Stool is a Simplification of Equestrian Equipment By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-05-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saddle-stool References: [blog.2modern](http://blog.2modern.com/2013/05/saddle-up.html) & [europaconcorsi](http://europaconcorsi.com/projects/217967-SADDLE) The Saddle Stool is expressed by fairly simple composition and coloring, yet it is a great deal more exciting than your archetypal [backless seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedeo-chair). Inspired by a cowboy's saddle on the back of a horse, this playful perch appears to float as if an animal had scurried away from underneath it. Studio 06 of Italy took a [thin sheet of metal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stamping-chair) in a round shape and gently bent it so that it forms a smooth and symmetrical curve down both sides. This was slumped over a very fine frame in tubular steel that flares for added stability towards the base. The legs of the piece have been finished in a soft white so that they seem to disappear in a pale-painted room. Contrastingly, the Saddle Stool tops are rendered in [vivid yellow and red](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edition-two) to pop amidst their surroundings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Simplified Equestrian Equipment:** Opportunity for streamlining and simplifying traditional horseback riding gear. - **Playful and Vibrant Designs:** Incorporating bright colors and playful elements into seating design for added visual appeal. - **Creative Use of Materials:** Exploration of unconventional materials like thin metal sheets for innovative furniture design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Incorporating equestrian-inspired elements and vibrant colors into seating designs for residential and commercial spaces. - **Sports and Recreation:** Developing simplified and visually appealing equestrian equipment to enhance the horseback riding experience. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating vibrant and playful seating designs to add a unique touch to interior spaces such as homes, cafes, and offices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Horse-Inspired Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-falabella-stool.md) - [Refreshed Perforated Modern Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mezzadro.md) - [Playful Compact Hybrid Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pony.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Bulbous Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-stool.md) - [Colorful Dual-Purpose Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/s1-stool.md) - [Functional Decorative Rocking Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rool-stool.md) - [Lifestyle Commentary Stool Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hipstool-series.md) - [Visibly Undulating Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concave-stool.md) - [Sleek Structural Rocking Horses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocking-horse-chair.md)
