The sleek Sabine collection by Glimakra consists of felt-covered cabinets and partitions that smoothly absorb sound across a frequency range of 125 hertz to 4000 hertz. Further experimenting with their sound-absorbing technology in this new collection, designers Johan Kauppi and Bertil Harström continue to explore ideas that stay away from the opposing ideals of cubicle versus open-concept when it comes to office layout. Sound absorption is one way to combat the barriers to [open-concept work spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arches-screen), potentially eliminating noisy distractions, while the arrangement provides enough privacy without isolating each worker to a cubicle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sound-absorbing Office Furniture:** Opportunity for designing office furniture that incorporates sound-absorbing technology to create quiet and productive work environments. - **Well-being and Positive Dispositions in Office Decor:** Potential for designing office decor that promotes well-being and positive dispositions, contributing to employee satisfaction and productivity. - **Alternative Office Layouts:** Opportunity for exploring alternative office layouts that balance privacy and collaboration, moving away from traditional cubicle or open-concept designs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Furniture:** Opportunity in the office furniture industry to integrate sound-absorbing technology into their designs. - **Interior Design:** Potential for interior designers to incorporate elements in office decor that promote well-being and positive dispositions. - **Office Space Planning:** Opportunity for office space planners to create alternative office layouts that maximize productivity and employee satisfaction. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Design-Conscious Office Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calm-collection.md) - [Wool Office Soundscape Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstracta.md) - [Sound-Absorbing Curtains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-gunnlaug.md) - [Acoustic Office Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acoustic-lounge.md) - [Elegant Innovative Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glimakra-of-sweden.md) - [Dynamic Acoustic Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-acoustic-artwork.md) - [Vibrantly Tonal Work Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/focus-spaces.md) - [People-Pleasing Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cubicle-system.md) - [Geometric Sound-Dampening Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acoustic-compositions.md)
