# Penetration-Proof Cranium Covers The S-10 Helmet Concept Lets You Ride Safely in Style By Michael Hines | Published 2011-08-02 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/s-10-helmet-concept References: [designbuzz](http://www.designbuzz.com/entry/10-concept-helmet-stylish-head-shape-size-mind/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/S-10-Concept-Helmet/1849217) My desire to buy a motorcycle is higher than ever after seeing the S-10 Helmet concept. Designed by Piers Storey, the S-10 Helmet concept is designed to be safe and stylish with its sleek white finish and penetration-proof shell. While the S-10 Helmet concept is quite the looker, Storey made sure that the helmet would also deliver in the safety department where it mattered most. The S-10 Helmet features a removable inner lining made out of [Koroyd](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountain-bike-helmets), a material that has a shock absorption rate 80 percent higher than the EPS material currently used to line helmets. The lining on the inside of the helmet is removable so that the same helmet can be used for multiple riders, with the lining being the only part of the helmet that is actually sized. The vents of the helmet were designed to reduce hearing damage caused by air interfering with [in-helmet radios and MP3 players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardo-systems). Combine all of these safety features together with the look of this helmet and you've got a winning design on your hands. Here's hoping the S-10 Helmet hits shelves before I begin riding. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Safe and Stylish Motorcycle Helmets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design helmets that prioritize safety without compromising style. - **Advanced Shock Absorption Materials:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new materials for helmet linings with superior shock absorption properties than the current industry standard. - **Airflow Optimization for In-helmet Devices:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create helmet ventilation systems that minimize hearing damage caused by air interference with in-helmet radios and MP3 players. ### Who This Affects Most - **Motorcycle Gear and Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce innovative and stylish motorcycle gear and accessories, including helmets, to cater to the rising demand for safe and fashionable riding equipment. - **Advanced Materials Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Invest in research and development of advanced materials for various industries, including the production of high-performance helmet linings. - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new technologies and products for in-helmet devices that offer seamless integration, optimized airflow, and minimal hearing damage. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Full-Face Moto Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/supertech-r10-launch-edition-helmet.md) - [AI-Generated Motorbike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coldstar-art.md) - [Interchangeable Component Sport Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-helmet.md) - [Oceanic Recycled Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shellmet-helmet.md) - [Camera-Equipped Motorcyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forcite-mk1s-smart-helmet.md) - [Scallop Shell-Constructed Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shellmet.md) - [Breakaway Panel Bike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canyon-deflectr-rls-helmet.md) - [Connected Motorcycle Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shoei-opticson-smart-motorcycle-helmet.md) - [Collaboration Sport Use Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/malle-x-nexx-atp-helmet.md)
