California-based [Firestone Walking Brewing Company](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/west-coast-ipa1) has gone ahead and launched 'Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA,' a move that marks a reincarnation of sorts after the original 'Wookey Jack' line was ended years ago.

This particular [rye IPA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-mango-beer-hug) comes in at a strong 8.3 percent ABV, making it a bold offering that is well-suited to seasoned lovers of hoppy and rye-infused brews. The beer makes use of Citra and Amarillo hops that are put through a significant dry-hopping process, making for a beer that has in-your-face dankness, while the inclusion of rye adds a grain-like character.

Whereas the original 'Wookey Jack' is credited with being one of the flag-bearers of the [black IPA segment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackout-stout), the reimagined release goes to show that this particular segment of the beer market is alive and well.
