As strange as it sounds, a company by the name of Rust-Oleum has created just that. The product allows the user to turn everyday surfaces like tabletops or [wooden walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limewash) in a chalk board. One of the best parts of this application is that it can simply be removed with water and soap afterwards. After the spray has been applied, it works similar to a traditional chalk board, and so it can be used practically for teaching or for fun by [doodling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodleface). This spray would be especially ideal for children who love to draw all over walls and expensive furniture. Maybe junior will be content with the idea of [drawing over the dried spray](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spray-bottle-concept) instead. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Spray-on Writing Surfaces:** Creating new possibilities to use chalkboards through using a simple Rust-Oleum Spray. - **Interactive Surfaces:** Developing new materials to enable interactive surfaces in homes, offices, and schools. - **Innovative Teaching Tools:** Reinventing traditional teaching tools with spray-on writing surfaces to make learning enjoyable even outside of classrooms. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Improvement:** Introducing Spray-On Writing Surfaces for home renovation industry to make home makeover more fun and interactive. - **Education Technology:** Incorporating interactive spray-on writing surfaces as part of educational technology for innovative classroom learning. - **Toy Industry:** Creating new, creative and interactive toys to cater to children who love to doodle and make a mess using Rust-Oleum Spray-On Writing Surfaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Low-Odor Spray Paints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/premium-spray-paint.md) - [AR Spray Painting Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ar-spray-painting.md) - [Decorative Removable Paints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glasst.md) - [Removable Wall Paints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unpaint.md) - [Next-Generation Auto Care Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextgeneration-auto-care.md) - [Customization-Friendly Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spray-furniture.md) - [Sprayable Food Colorings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/food-color-spray.md) - [Confectionary-Inspired Chalks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sparkling-macaron-sidewalk-chalk.md) - [Bleach-Free Mold-Targeting Sprays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrobiums-mold-control.md)
