# Injury-Dodging Mouses The Run-Chy Mouse Knows When it's Time to Take a Break from Computing By Michael Hines | Published 2011-06-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/run-chy-mouse References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/06/21/and-this-mouse-got-away/) The health of my right hand would be much improved if I was doing my computing with the Run-chy Mouse. The Run-chy Mouse was designed by Jung-eun Park to help hardcore computer folks [reduce the risk of RSIs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keychron-m5). How does the Run-chy Mouse help you avoid cramping up, or worse, [Carpal Tunnel Syndrome](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-mouse-concept), you ask? If you decide to take a break from computing every hour but forget, the mouse will remember for you and automatically make a break for it. I am loving nearly every aspect of the Run-chy Mouse, but I would like to see a [cordless version](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-nova) of it. I'd rather my hand fall off than compute using a mouse tethered to a cord. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Injury-preventing Computing:** The development of products such as the Run-chy Mouse highlights the potential for innovation in developing ergonomic and health-focused technologies for computing. - **Smart Peripherals:** Peripherals such as the Run-chy Mouse demonstrate how adding smart features to existing technologies can help improve user experience and productivity. - **Remote Health Monitoring:** The integration of timers, sensors and other technologies in devices such as the Run-chy Mouse is indicative of a wider trend towards remote health monitoring and preventative healthcare through technology. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Computer Peripherals:** The market for ergonomic and health-focused computer peripherals such as the Run-chy Mouse is likely to see growth as individuals and businesses become more aware of the need to prioritize health and wellbeing in computing. - **Healthcare Technology:** The development of technologies such as the Run-chy Mouse has implications for the wider healthcare industry as it suggests the potential for remote monitoring and preventative healthcare through smart devices. - **Consumer Electronics:** Consumer electronics manufacturers have the opportunity to develop innovative products that prioritize health and wellbeing, such as the Run-chy Mouse, in response to growing consumer demand for these types of products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Strain-Reducing Computer Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-mouse.md) - [Discomfort Prevention Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-ergonomic-mouse.md) - [Ergonomic Scroll Mouse Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slidermouse-pro.md) - [Ergonomic Wrist Rest Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allin-ergonomic-mouse.md) - [WFH Mouse-Activating Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mouse-mover.md) - [Contoured Comfort Mouse Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-ergonomic-mouse.md) - [Ergonomic Quality Computer Mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/propoint.md) - [Custom Calibration Computer Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-computer-mouse.md) - [Malleable Stress Relief Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vent-wireless-mouse.md)
