The ruler is characterized by its curvaceous construction that makes full contact with the surface to prevent the tip of the writing utensil to be hidden underneath. Constructed out of anodized aluminum, the ruler maintains an elegant aesthetic that transforms it from simple to stylish and will thus look right at home on display on a desktop. The Ruler_C concept is the design work of Chung Ping Lun and Kuo Kai Lei of the Medium2 Studio, and is perfect for creatives and designers alike to elevate the modern workstation. The ruler speaks to the premiumization of simple yet quintessential desk tools as professionals spend extended periods working from the office and/or home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 15% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Premium Desk Tools:** The premiumization of simple yet quintessential desk tools is an emerging trend. - **Curved Design:** The use of a curvaceous design in essential tools is an emerging trend. - **Anodized Aluminum Construction:** The use of anodized aluminum in high-end design tools is an emerging trend. ### Who This Affects Most - **Stationery and Office Supplies:** Companies in the stationery and office supplies industry can innovate by introducing premium, high-end desk tools. - **Product Design:** In the product design industry, there are opportunities to introduce innovative designs that incorporate the trend of curvaceous construction and anodized aluminum materials. - **Work From Home Solutions:** Companies that specialize in work from home solutions can incorporate premium, high-end desk tools to provide an elevated workspace experience for remote workers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Haute Hybrid Designer Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rotio-compass-and-ruler.md) - [Hybrid Angled Stationary Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/25-ruler.md) - [Digital Design Desktop Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neoruler.md) - [Multifunctional Angular Desktop Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexagonal-ruler-set.md) - [Geometric Dynamic Stationary](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexagonal-ruler.md) - [Magnifying Measurement Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fun-sizes-ruler.md) - [Compact Precise Sketching Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-helvetica.md) - [Minimal Stainless Steel Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shinwa.md) - [Refill-Friendly Ruler Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combined-ruler-and-pen.md)
