# Comfy Quilted Seating The Ruche Armchair by Inga Sempe is Deceptively Blanketed By Meghan Young | Published 2014-01-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruche-armchair References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/ruche-armchair-inga-sempe-ligne-roset/) & [ligneroset.fr](http://www.ligneroset.fr/Collection/vivre/canapes/Ruche_1701.aspx) The Ruche Armchair is an exceptionally comfy-looking seat. This is due in large part to its cushioning, which could pass as a quilt blanket thrown over its frame. Simple yet stylish, the design takes a traditional piece of home decor and turns it into something cozily modern. Designed by Inga Sempe for Ligne Roset, the Ruche Armchair is a sleek appearance aside from its blanketed surfaces. Complete with thin red legs, it is this sleekness that makes it so contemporary. The matching piece to the [Sofa Ruche](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sofa-ruche), the Ruche Armchair has asymmetrical arms in order to better accommodate more comfortable lounging. It also can be paired with a stool for even more relaxed positions. It is available in various colors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Quilted Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunities include incorporating new materials and technologies to create even more comfortable and stylish quilted seating options. - **Cozy Modern Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities lie in finding ways to incorporate cozy elements into modern designs, blending comfort and style in innovative ways. - **Sleek Contemporary Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunities can be found by exploring new ways to combine sleek aesthetics with contemporary furniture designs, creating visually appealing and modern pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in the furniture industry by exploring new materials, designs, and technologies to create unique and comfortable seating options. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities can be found in the interior design industry by incorporating cozy elements into modern designs, creating spaces that are both comfortable and stylish. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in the home decor industry by reimagining traditional pieces, such as quilts, and transforming them into modern and cozy design elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Enveloping Nested Layer Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hug-armchair.md) - [Flamboyant Vintage-Inspired Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quiltana-armchair.md) - [Cozy Oversized Cushion Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo-lounge-chair.md) - [Curvaceous Ribbon-Like Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qeeboo-ribbon-armchair.md) - [Plush Chair Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-puffer-collection.md) - [Cozy Contemporary Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-bun.md) - [Chunky Knitted Quilted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knitty-chair.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Cozy Flower-Like Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beba-armchair.md)
