Waitresses are dressed as maids who address you as "master" or "Lord"; bow down and kneel to stir your cream and sugar; giving nerdy customers the chance to live their fantasy. For about a $75 fee, you can "book" a waiteress and chat with her in a private room filled with [comic books and action figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gacha-catch). The Royal /T will also feature a shop and art gallery to appeal to the artsy crowd as well. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Maid Cafes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Bringing the popular Japanese trend of maid cafes to America. - **Role Playing Experiences:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating immersive role playing experiences in unique dining settings. - **Artistic Cafes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combining cafes with art galleries and shops to appeal to a creative audience. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating unique and themed dining experiences into the hospitality industry. - **Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating interactive and immersive entertainment experiences through role playing cafes. - **Art and Culture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring the fusion of art and dining to engage a new and diverse audience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Galactic Cafe Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Star-wars-themed-cafe.md) - [Enchanting Wizard-Themed Cafés](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harry-potter-cafe.md) - [Cartoon Cat-Inspired Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/universal.md) - [Video Game Character Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toadstool-cafe.md) - [80s Animated Film Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koriko-cafe.md) - [Mobile Game-Themed Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iswii-angry-birds.md) - [Futuristic Train Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/future-train.md) - [Anime-Themed Cuisines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pronto.md) - [Chibi Cartoon-Inspired Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sega-2.md)
