# Emotional Fembots Roxxxy is a Talking, Life-Sized Lady Friend By lauren festa | Published 2010-01-11 | Naughty Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roxxxy References: [abc.net.au](http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/01/10/2788991.htm) & [abc.net.au](http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/01/10/2788991.htm) Blow up dolls are amusing. They also come in handy for a futile attempt at replacing a girlfriend to cuddle with at night. They also prove as inspiring, at least for one man, named Douglas Hines, the creator of Roxxxy, one of the world’s first ever life-sized sex toys. Besides looking like a ‘souped-up’ or sexed-up blow up doll, Roxxxy does a lot more than look good; she can actually talk. Hines, a sex toy innovator, believes the key to a lasting relationship lies in the ability to communicate, and so, he made Roxxxy, a woman of words and feeling. According to a report from TheStar.com, when you touch the robot’s hand, she senses you and says “I love holding hands with you.” It’s like a super-furby. Her debut was in Las Vegas, this past weekend. Note: you shouldn’t hope to replace real people with Roxxxy or any other sex toy, for that matter. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Naughty](https://www.trendhunter.com/naughty) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Lifelike Sex Toys:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced sex toys that not only have realistic physical features but also possess interactive communication abilities. - **Artificial Intelligence in Intimate Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate AI technology into adult products to create more personalized and engaging experiences. - **Enhanced User-product Interaction:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design sex toys that can respond to touch, voice, and movement to provide a more immersive and realistic user experience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Adult Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore technological advancements to create more sophisticated and interactive adult entertainment products. - **Artificial Intelligence:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Harness AI technology to revolutionize the way intimate products are developed and enhance user experiences. - **Robotics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine robotics and adult products to create lifelike companions with advanced communication and interaction capabilities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI Emotional Support Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/romi-lacatan.md) - [Portable AI Emotional Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-emotional-companion.md) - [AI Chatbot Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/replika.md) - [Emotional Lifelike Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lovot.md) - [AI Care Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyodol-doll.md) - [Socially Adept Gaming Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaming-robots.md) - [Emotive AI Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ourobot.md) - [Future-Facing Intimacy Technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intimacy-technology.md) - [Loneliness-Combating AI Teddy Bears](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-friend-chatbot.md)
