The London-based design and manufacturing studio Rousseau has created a [spherical seating option](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunk-doughnut-chair) equipped with LED lighting that will [attach to your ceiling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/andr-terchanian) and blow your mind. The seats have an ultra-modern look with whimsical swirled etchings on the outside and a bright glow that seems to come from within. The RGB LED color light change system installed in the orb makes it stand out as the resplendent centerpiece in any room. Looking like a seat from the 70's with a [futuristic feel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polarisgo-chair), the Rousseau Bubble Chairs prove that decor designs have really come full (or half) circle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Led-illuminated Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop energy-efficient and customizable LED lighting systems for furniture. - **Spherical Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore unconventional shapes and designs for seating options to create unique and eye-catching furniture. - **Whimsical Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine playful and artistic elements with functional furniture to appeal to contemporary consumers. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate smart technology and sustainable materials into furniture manufacturing processes. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate innovative and visually striking furniture designs into interior design projects. - **Lighting Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced LED lighting solutions for various applications, including furniture design and home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Seating Centerpieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-chair.md) - [Peaceful Geometric Hanging Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iko-hanging-chair.md) - [Modular Mood Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-chair.md) - [Arched Circular Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-chair.md) - [Childhood-Informed Dome Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clodette-chair.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Otherworldly-Inspired Dynamic Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmos-chair.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md)
