The scale is characterized by its compact, [solar-powered construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-solar-tracker) that can be easily toted between locations thanks to its backpack-style carrier on the bottom section. The [interior weighing bowl](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/actofit-smart-scale-home) will offer a safe space for an infant to be placed to track their weight, which could help communities keep [vulnerable infants supported](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yuanbeibei-intelligent-crib) during a critical period. The conceptual ROOTS Solar Scale offers a more convenient, portable alternative to existing scales that are oftentimes too heavy to relocate and that could be offering inaccurate readings. The digital aspect of the scale ensures an optimal reading, while the solar-powered functionality allows for use virtually anywhere. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 11% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Babies](https://www.trendhunter.com/babies) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Remote Community Health Tech:** Developing solar-powered health tech for remote communities presents an opportunity to combat neonatal deaths and improve infant health. - **Portable Infant Weighing Scales:** Creating lightweight, portable infant weighing scales can improve healthcare services in remote areas. - **Solar-powered Medical Devices:** The use of solar power in medical devices presents a sustainable and cost-effective solution for remote healthcare services. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Healthcare Technology:** Healthcare technology companies can innovate by designing portable medical devices for remote areas powered by sustainable energy. - **Renewable Energy:** Renewable energy companies can explore the potential of solar energy in powering medical devices in remote areas to support critical healthcare services. - **Public Health:** Public health organizations can collaborate with technology and renewable energy companies to improve healthcare services and combat neonatal deaths in remote areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Skateboard-Inspired Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateboard-scale.md) - [Design-Conscious Baby Incubators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concept-incubator.md) - [Two-Part Kitchen Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-weighing-scale.md) - [Smart Health Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/withings-body-scan-2.md) - [Musculoskeletal Health-Analyzing Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/careco-fisica.md) - [Feather-Safe Bird Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perchcare.md) - [Solar-Powered Pool Monitoring Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-pool-monitoring.md) - [Holistic Health Smart Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/korehealth-korescale.md) - [Smart-Designed Body Scales](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartdesigned-body-scale.md)
