# Artistic Aerial Pad Portraits Room Portraits by Menno Aden Give You a Whole New Perspective By Erin Kirkpatrick | Published 2012-06-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/room-portraits-by-menno-aden References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2012/06/12/room-portraits-by-menno-aden/) & [mennoaden](http://mennoaden.com/) The Room Portraits by Menno Aden allow one to see various rooms in a Berlin house from an unorthodox view, a bird's-eye-perspective. This series by talented German Photographer and artist Menno Aden provides a point of view quite uncommon to us -- the view from a ceiling. Through this aerial photoshoot, familiar rooms and living environments become altogether unfamiliar and their components become more interesting and eye-catching. This collection of room portraiture feature rooms such as bars, supermarkets, car parks, classrooms and apartments; all of which seem familiar from ground level, but lose their easy recognition with the change in angle. Aden's work mixes things up and gives viewers an unfamiliar interpretation, specifically from a high altitude perspective. In order to capture each portrait, a camera was positioned in the center of the ceiling that appears to deflate and reduce the room to abstracted and flat shapes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Bird's-eye Photography:** Opportunity to utilize bird's-eye photography to capture familiar environments from an unfamiliar aerial perspective. - **Abstract Room Portraits:** Opportunity to create abstract room portraits by positioning a camera in the center of the ceiling, capturing unique angles and shapes. - **Unconventional Viewpoints:** Opportunity to explore unconventional viewpoints in photography to give viewers a new perspective of even the most familiar environments. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Photographers can utilize aerial photography and unconventional viewpoints to offer a unique perspective to their clients. - **Interior Design:** Room portraits can be utilized by interior designers to showcase unique perspectives and ideas for client designs. - **Tourism:** Tourism industries can use abstract room portraits to attract customers and offer a new angle to showcase their hotel and resort rooms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [AI-Powered Portrait Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-powered-portrait-studio.md) - [Immersive Artful Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oveneck-33.md) - [Social Experiment Virtual Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uncanny-spaces.md) - [Immersive Hotel Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotel-art-installation.md) - [Artful Custom Mirror Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portraits-collection.md) - [Artist Apartment Conversions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alan-prekop-studio.md) - [Light-Filled Alpine Lofts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omarama-attic.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md)
